Filming Max and Mary’s wedding in Portland, OR was such a memorable and joyous experience.
That morning, we all felt this extra pep in our step. Whether it was the extra jolt from our coffees, being downtown amongst the hustle and bustle of the early morning go-getters, or because we were partnering with our favorite photographers, we just knew it was going to be a great day.
Mary got ready at the Woodlark Hotel in downtown Portland which perfectly encapsulated the timeless yet modern feel that she was going for. From the moment we walked through the door, we wanted to create a fun, welcoming, and celebratory atmosphere that allowed the bride to relax and just enjoy the morning. We were so inspired by her warmth, natural beauty, and confidence that we could have filmed in that suite for days.
After her morning of pampering, we headed to McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, OR for their first look and creative session. The vine-covered building made the perfect backdrop for their first look. That moment when the groom turns around and sees his bride says a lot about a couple and this one exclaimed his love for her; the love and pride in his eyes said it all. The vineyards were a great choice for their creative sessions as the scenery added an extra bit of romance. As their chemistry led the way, they were caught up in their own little world, allowing us to capture some amazing candid moments.
After their ceremony at Ukrainian Bible Church in Fairview, OR, we headed to the Heathen Estate Winery in Vancouver, WA for the reception. Their white-top tent, fixed with hanging cafe lights, circular eucalyptus arrangements, and farmhouse-style tables, set the scene for their own little kingdom. Inside the walls of that tent, Max and Mary were royalty, celebrating their new union with all their friends and family. One of the highlights of the reception, though, was Tim Staro the saxophonist who enchanted the ears of everyone who listened. The happy couple ended the night with one of the most spectacular sparkler/firework send-offs we have ever seen. We danced through fireworks to get the shot, but capturing all the cheers as they made their way through the smoke and haze was a moment to remember!
