From the moment we arrived at the Fairmont Olympic hotel in Seattle, WA, we knew that Mahdieh and Armand’s wedding was going to be special. The air felt extra crisp, our coffees extra strong, and our spirits extra high, ready to forge ahead into the great adventure of a same-day edit that lay before us. As we carouselled the revolving door and took those first steps into the Fairmont, we were transported to another world as if we entered the wardrobe and stepped into Narnia.
Victoria & Ruben // Battleground, WA
Filming Victoria and Ruben’s wedding in Battleground, WA was such a unique experience. First off, they had their wedding at Victoria’s childhood home. Between their driveway and front yard, they were able to transform her home into a beautiful and timeless wedding venue. Second, the way their two families rallied around them to make their wedding dreams come true was so endearing. It was the epitome of “it takes a village.”
Erika & Nikita // Puyallup, WA
Filming Erika and Nikita’s wedding at Rock Creek Gardens in Puyallup, WA was such a special and enjoyable time.
That morning, we knew it was going to be a great day as we were going to be shooting at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, WA. We love filming at this hotel as it gives us all the studio-quality lighting needed to capture every moment.
Renee & Jeremy // Forks, WA
We absolutely loved filming Renee and Jeremy’s wedding at Fern Acres in Forks, WA.
Coming from the Cayman Islands, Renee and Jeremy’s destination micro wedding was all about their closest family members and them. The goal of the day was to celebrate and spend some secluded, quality time with those closest to them.
Tina & Artem // Fairview, OR
Filming Tina and Artem’s wedding at Ukrainian Bible Church in Fairview, OR was such a special day for us. Tina is Dan’s (our second shooter) sister. So we knew that we wanted to crush it extra hard for them.
One thing that Tina and Artem did so well that day was take in every second. In particular, there was this moment in the morning where Tina pulled out a photo book, sat in a chair, and just reminisced on their journey. Nothing else mattered in that moment, just that book and her memories. It is always so important to take time and slow down on a day that can be chaotic.
Joan & Byungseok // McMinnville, OR
Filming Joan and Byungseok’s wedding at Maysara Winery and Momtazi Vineyard in McMinnville, OR was such a special and unique experience.
Both hailing from South Korea, we had the chance to experience some South Korean wedding traditions and customs. The mother and father of the bride and the mother of the groom wore a traditional hanbok-the national dress/outfit of Korea. In addition, both of the mothers walked together down the aisle, hand in hand, and when they got to the front, they lit two candles representing the beginning of the ceremony but also the union. At the end of the ceremony, Joan and Byungseok lit the last candle closing the ceremony but also uniting the two families. We love how they took elements of traditional South Korean weddings but also made it modern: respecting and paying homage to their heritage but also celebrating the here and now.
Gloria & Erik // Kenmore, WA
Gloria and Erik’s wedding at Bastyr Chapel in Kenmore, WA was a very unique and special day.
They got ready at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, WA and the view from their windows was absolutely stunning. It overlooked Lake Washington and with the weather we had that day, amazing photos, and lighting. Gloria looked so beautiful, poised, calm, and just ready for the day. There did not seem to be any nerves in her but just this radiant peace. Erik, by far, had one of the most extravagant and amazing suits we have seen. It was a custom Dolce and Gabbana suit made out of this baroque patterned fabric. On others, it might have been too much or too different, but Erik had such confidence and swagger that it just made sense. He did not allow the suit to wear him but he wore the suit.
Marianna & Vlad // Spokane, WA
Marianna and Vlad’s wedding at the Trezzi Farm Winery & Vineyard near Spokane, WA was a fairytale day from start to finish.
It was love at first sight as Marianna and Vlad met through friends while playing volleyball. From listening to the way they talked about each other to the way they interacted face to face, it was evident that this was a match made in heaven.
