Filming Julie and Thaddeus’ destination wedding in Jerusalem, Israel was one of the most spiritually memorable experiences. Jerusalem itself held so much history and spirituality but adding in a love like Julie and Thaddeus’ took it to a whole other level.
Jerusalem was a very special place to Thaddeus and his family, as his family went there almost every year growing up, so having their wedding there just made it all the more special. Julie and Thaddeus welcomed us with open arms from the moment we landed. Thaddeus even gave us a chiropractic adjustment; it was amazing! (Don’t worry he’s a licensed chiropractor). They just have the biggest hearts and it showed in everything they did and said.
Their ceremony and reception were held at this retreat center that overlooked the city. Groves of olive trees and rock walls lined the perimeter, it was breathtaking. The venue's natural beauty allowed Julie and Thaddeus to have more simple, minimalistic floral arrangements and decor pieces. The greenery centerpiece halos with ivory candlesticks were the perfect touch to their reception tables.
We could really see how much they love their family and their family loves them. Everyone just wanted to support this union, from the tears that flowed during the ceremony to the funny and amazing speeches at the reception.
One of our favorite moments from the trip was the sunrise second-day shoot in the empty streets of Jerusalem. It was so still, peaceful, and dreamy, it felt like we had the whole city to ourselves. Sunrise shoots can be hard, especially after a wedding but the footage we got and feel of a quiet city before the hustle and bustle is always so worth it. Plus later that morning, Julie and Thaddeus were able to ride a camel, how cool is that?!
Jerusalem was truly an unforgettable place and we are so honored that Julie and Thaddeus chose us to capture their day. Check out their short film to see just how moving this day was!
