Irina and Eric’s wedding at Villa Catalana Cellars in Oregon City, OR was one of the most heartfelt and touching weddings we have had the honor of filming. Their story is all about love, determination, and persistence. From the moment he met her, Eric knew that Irina was the one. While she may not have always felt the same, once she gave him a chance, she knew she had found someone special.
His deep love for her was evident throughout the day. We all felt it when they did their first look. Trying to keep his composure as he waited for his bride, Irina approached him from behind and wrapped her arms around him. The moment he turned around, tears streamed down his face, there was no holding them back. He was beholding his treasure on the first day of the rest of their lives. It was by far the most beautiful and emotional first look and had everyone in tears…including us.
Their whole day was at Villa Catalana Cellars and it was an absolute dream to film there. We had always wanted to do a full wedding day there so we were extra excited about this one. Irina and Eric had contemplated doing a destination wedding but with so many friends and family in attendance, they decided to keep it local. Villa Catalana Cellars was the perfect choice because it looked and felt like a little slice of Tuscany. Their ceremony was on this hillside that overlooked a little lake. They wrapped the columns leading to the altar with vines to flow with the Tuscany vibes and had a full, lush statement floral arch.
The reception was under the grape arbor and turned into a garden-y fairytale. They chose to stick with a green and white color scheme to not compete with the existing feel of the arbor. Behind their sweetheart’s table, they hung some small glass orbs with tea light candles in them for an extra romantic feel. Partway through the reception, we took them out for sunset and the lighting was absolutely perfect!
