Anna & Roman // Portland, OR

Anna and Roman have one of those love stories that give us hope that true love still exists in the world.  They had been family friends since they were kids.  Roman always knew that he was going to marry her one day and patiently waited until she realized he was the one for her.  Their families shared so many memories that day, we saw just how tight-knit these families were.

The morning with the bride was so cool.  Her family and friends were all there, laughing and having a good time.  Anna was so sweet and thoughtful as she laid out her details and hung her dress in a fun, creative way so we could just start shooting once we got there.

Their first look was so sweet and special as they did it in her childhood home.  Both dads were standing next to each other on the stairs, tears rolling down their faces.  We felt all the love and shared history and experiences between the two families.

Both the ceremony and the reception took place at First Ukrainian Bible Church.  The ceremony was clean, simple, and beautiful.  They had these lush white and green floral columns on either side of the altar.  It added a grandioseness to it that elevated the stage.  The speeches at the reception were so sweet and touching as everyone had so many memories to reminisce on.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was their creative session.  We went to “their” field; a field they’ve been coming to since they were kids.  It was such a sentimental place for them that it only seemed right to have their creative session there. The wildflowers were in full bloom and created such a romantic atmosphere for them.  We were able to get some beautiful shots of them walking in the field and playing in the grass.

It was truly an honor to capture such a special love story!
