Filming Lauren and Brent’s multicultural wedding at Folktale Winery and Vineyards in Carmel, CA was such a unique experience. How they blended cultures was a first for us and wow, what a memorable time.
We love it when couples incorporate culturally traditional elements into their wedding as it pays homage to their roots. As Lauren is of Chinese descent, they performed a tea ceremony the day before the wedding. She wore a traditional cheongsam or qipao, and he wore a tang jacket. The ceremony ended with an amazing lion dance, which is thought to bless the couple and wish them a long, healthy marriage and abundant prosperity.
Folktale Winery and Vineyard really deserve a shout-out as they created such a welcoming and festive atmosphere for Lauren and Brent to make it their own. From the tea ceremony to the wedding ceremony and reception, they created such a unique space that incorporated the beauty of both their cultures.
The boldness of the colors mirrored the boldness of their love. We were caught up in a sea of vibrancy from bright reds and oranges to rich blues and purples. Their floral arrangements including the centerpieces, hanging installations, and ceremony arch were show-stopping as they used such a variety of flowers and plants.
The wedding day was filled with so much love and excitement; everyone knew it was a party day! The ceremony was outdoors by Folktale’s vineyard and held the perfect mix of elegance and flare. When Lauren and Brent walked in at the reception, it felt like a climactic scene from a movie. Everyone was cheering and clapping as the couple danced their way into the room; it was electrifying. They danced the night away with all their friends and families ending the day in a much-anticipated celebration.
We hope their short film gives your a peek into their “tale of two cultures” day!
