Shannon & Taylor // Carmel, CA

Shannon and Taylor’s stunning wedding at Joullian Vineyards in Carmel, CA might just be the most memorable wedding we have ever shot.  The atmosphere was electric, the Carmel Valley landscape breathtaking, and the couple incandescently infatuated with each other.

Their love story began like the plot of a romcom-guy walks into a bar in New York and sees this girl sitting at the counter.  One thing to note about Taylor is that he’s not really forward when it comes to meeting new people but when he saw Shannon, he knew he needed to meet her, so he slid into the seat next to her and struck up a conversation.  From that moment on, it was a fairytale as Shannon puts it.

“He’s the man of my dreams.  He’s better because I didn’t know what I needed until I met him.  Never give up on fairytales because your dad and I have one…people always told me fairytales don’t exist but they sure do.”

Her words to her future children that morning were so moving and really reminded us of the reason we were there and why we love what we do!

Emotions continued to rise as they did their first look under some of the trees at the vineyard.  The moment Taylor saw her, tears streamed down his face.

“I love you so much.  You look so beautiful.”

Under those trees, they privately read their vows to each other before sharing them with their friends and family.  This created a moment in time when they just left the world behind and focused on the promises they were committed to making for each other.

As the day went on, the mood shifted from emotional sentimentalism to celebratory revelry.  Auriel from Luna and all the staff at Joullian Vineyards really went above and beyond what we could have expected from a planner and staff.  Every detail was planned and accounted for like Shannon’s three pairs of shoes: one for her ceremony dress, one for her reception, and one for when her feet got tired.  Between Auriel and Shannon, everything went seamlessly.

Shannon and Taylor didn’t stick with traditions that didn’t suit them and we LOVE that about them.  For instance, they are not cake people and they didn’t want to spend money on something they don’t even like.  So instead of the traditional cake cutting, they did a champagne tower pour!  Not only was it more their speed but also super trendy and turned out fantastic!!!  As the guests mingled and played bocci ball on the lawn, we snuck the newlyweds away from some of the most incredible sunset shots ever!  Everything was perfect…and we don’t use that word very often.

As dusk turned to night, Shannon slipped into her custom Le Laurier reception dress and Vybe Society whisked everyone into jazz-filled dancing frenzy.  They partied the night away as dawn broke on the next chapter of their fairytale romance.

We are so incredibly honored to have captured Shannon and Taylor’s wedding and hope our film pulls back the curtain on their truly magical day.
