Filming Erika and Nikita’s wedding at Rock Creek Gardens in Puyallup, WA was such a special and enjoyable time.

That morning, we knew it was going to be a great day as we were going to be shooting at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, WA. We love filming at this hotel as it gives us all the studio-quality lighting needed to capture every moment. Erika’s hair and makeup looked flawless, giving her the most radiant glow. She found the perfect mix of elegance and fierceness. She had the brilliant idea of laying on the bed with some large white peonies around her and the results were amazing!

We always ask our couples to write letters to each other to read during the morning. The day can be so chaotic that it gives them a chance to stop, take a breath, and have a moment to themselves. We gave Nikita his letter and tears filled his eyes as he read it. As if in a movie scene, Erika started walking down the stairs of the hotel to meet him as he finished the letter. His reaction to her was priceless! He had the biggest grin on his face like he couldn’t believe that she was going to be his. For the rest of the day, that smile remained on his face; so sweet.

For their creative session, we went to the Olympia Capitol Building which ended up being perfect for their aesthetic. Her dress, hair and makeup, and details along with his suit against the building made them look so regal and stately. They looked so good from every angle, we could have stayed and filmed them for hours.

Their ceremony and reception were at Rock Creek Gardens in Puyallup, WA. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful both visually and emotionally. They had these really cool white floral arrangements attached to clear plexiglass pedestals of varying heights. Everything just seemed so elegant and luxurious.

For their reception, they decided to go with a white top tent with white and gold chandeliers lining the top. They stuck with a white and gold color scheme, which worked well for them. The speeches and performances were so touching, we really felt the love that their families and friends and for them. We ended the day with a flower petal send-off into the sunset.
