Yosemite Valley is, without argument, the most dramatically beautiful wedding setting in North America — a granite cathedral carved by glaciers, where 3,000-foot walls rise on either side of a valley floor carpeted in meadow and threaded by the Merced River. Half Dome and El Capitan stand sentinel over every ceremony, and Bridalveil Fall provides a literal waterfall backdrop. There is nowhere on earth quite like this.
The Ahwahnee Hotel — a National Historic Landmark since 1987 — anchors Yosemite's luxury wedding offerings with its massive stone-and-timber great hall, stunning valley-view terrace, and the kind of architectural drama that makes every photograph and every film frame effortless. Beyond the Valley, Glacier Point offers a 3,200-foot perspective looking directly at Half Dome across the void.
Film House Weddings approaches Yosemite with the reverence it deserves. We know this landscape — the quality of morning light in the Valley, the alpenglow on Half Dome at sunset, the way mist moves through the trees after a spring rain. We build every Yosemite wedding film around the extraordinary natural setting, because in this place, nature itself is the greatest cinematographer.
Why Choose Film House Weddings
Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.
Based in Yosemite Gateway, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.
Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. Yosemite Gateway Wedding Tips
NPS Permit Requirements
Yosemite Valley wedding permits are issued by the National Park Service and are competitive. Apply through Recreation.gov and plan 12 to 18 months ahead.
Valley Crowds
Summer Valley crowds are significant. Consider shoulder-season weddings in May, June, or October for dramatically better access and atmosphere.
Ahwahnee Booking
The Ahwahnee's event spaces book extremely far in advance — often 18 to 24 months for popular dates. Contact Yosemite Hospitality directly.
Golden Valley Light
The Valley's granite walls reflect and amplify golden-hour light in extraordinary ways. Plan your portrait time for the 60 minutes before sunset.

Yosemite Gateway Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Yosemite?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
Do you film weddings in Yosemite?
Yes. We travel throughout California including Yosemite Valley, Mariposa, Wawona, Groveland, and surrounding gateway communities.
How far in advance should we book?
Yosemite is one of the most competitive wedding destinations in the country. We recommend beginning vendor conversations 12 to 18 months ahead.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Which Yosemite venues have you filmed at?
We have filmed at venues throughout the Yosemite region. If your venue is new to us, we scout it in advance.
Do you offer drone videography?
Drone use inside Yosemite National Park requires special NPS permits and is generally restricted. We coordinate with park regulations on every Yosemite wedding.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter?
Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
