The Thursday Club

Point Loma, San Diego, CA

Wedding Videography at The Thursday Club

The Thursday Club traces back to 1921, when four women in San Diego founded a club combining social life with civic and charitable work. In 1927 the club was granted land on the Sunset Cliffs bluffs of Point Loma and built the Spanish-style clubhouse that still stands there today, on a half-acre site facing the Pacific. The building holds up to 150 guests and retains its original hardwood floors, French doors, stained glass, and detailed crown moldings and chandeliers, features rare in a venue this close to the ocean given how few coastal buildings from that era survive intact.

The clubhouse's position on the Point Loma bluffs means ocean and horizon are visible from the ceremony space itself, not a separate viewpoint reached by a shuttle or a walk down a hill. That proximity matters for a wedding film: wide shots can hold both the couple and open Pacific water in the same frame without a long lens compressing the distance between them. The Spanish architecture, French doors, and stained glass give interior coverage a warmth and period character that contrasts directly with the cooler, wide-open light off the water outside, and moving between the two within a few steps gives a film real visual range in a small footprint.

Point Loma's marine layer burns off most mornings by midday through the summer and fall, so late afternoon ceremonies here tend to get clean, direct coastal light rather than the gray haze that lingers longer at beach venues further north. Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at The Thursday Club.

Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at The Thursday Club in Point Loma. We film throughout San Diego County as part of our regular Southern California coverage.

What makes The Thursday Club special for wedding film?

Built in 1927 on the Sunset Cliffs bluffs of Point Loma, the clubhouse holds up to 150 guests with original hardwood floors, French doors, and stained glass, and the ocean is visible directly from the ceremony space. That means wide shots can frame the couple against open Pacific water without any distance between the architecture and the coastline.

Where is The Thursday Club located?

The Thursday Club is located in the Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma in San Diego, California, directly on the coastal bluffs facing the Pacific Ocean.

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost at The Thursday Club?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Do you offer drone videography?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it, since our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter?

Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
