The Stavrand
Guerneville, CA
Wedding Videography at The Stavrand
The Stavrand occupies six acres in Guerneville, at the heart of the Russian River Valley, where Sonoma County's wine country gives way to redwood forest. The property pairs Spanish Revival architecture with contemporary interiors, and the surrounding stand of redwoods, fruit trees, and mature conifers wraps the entire estate in privacy. For wedding cinematography, that enclosure is the defining quality: there is no adjacent property in frame, no road noise, no visual intrusion. The venue holds up to 150 guests and is small enough that a film crew is never working around another event.
Redwood light is unlike any other filming condition in California. The canopy diffuses midday sun into soft, directional shafts that fall through the trees in visible columns, and the deep green of the understory saturates every frame with color that requires almost no grading. The Stavrand has five event spaces: Chef's Meadow, the Bower, the Courtyard, Stavrand Hall, and the Sun Room. Together they move a wedding day between open meadow and sheltered forest, which gives a wedding film genuine visual range across a single property. Couples often hold the ceremony in the trees and then dine in Chef's Meadow or inside Stavrand Hall, a progression that reads beautifully on film.
The Russian River Valley sits close enough to the coast that morning fog is common and burns off through the late morning, leaving the redwoods backlit and the meadow in clear afternoon sun. Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at The Stavrand and to bring an understanding of redwood light and Sonoma coastal weather to every frame.

How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Do you offer drone videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it, since our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter?
Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
