Roblar Winery
Santa Ynez, CA
Wedding Videography at Roblar Winery
Roblar Winery sits in the Santa Ynez Valley, a family-run property that combines vineyards planted mostly to Bordeaux varieties, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay with an onsite farm supplying the winery's kitchen. Weddings here move across three distinct spaces: the Twin Oak Courtyard for cocktail hour, the Main Lawn overlooking the estate vineyard for al fresco dinner, and the Barrel Room, where guests dance among stacked wine barrels under vaulted ceilings. The property comfortably handles weddings up to 200 guests, with an onsite coordinator managing the flow between spaces.
The Barrel Room is the standout for cinematography here. Overhead lighting between the barrel stacks creates natural pools of warm light for a first dance or toast, and the wood and stone surfaces absorb rather than bounce light, which keeps skin tones from blowing out under mixed color temperatures. Outside, the century-old oaks scattered across the property throw dappled shade that shifts through the day, useful for both ceremony coverage and portraits without needing a lot of additional lighting. The vineyard rows visible from the Main Lawn give any wide establishing shot an immediate sense of the wine country setting.
Santa Ynez runs warmer and drier than the coastal towns closer to Santa Barbara, so afternoon light here tends to be harder and more direct, which rewards scheduling ceremonies for later in the day when the light softens. Harvest season, typically August through October, adds working vineyard activity to the backdrop that a spring wedding won't have. Film House Weddings films throughout California and would be honored to film your wedding at Roblar Winery.
