Wedding Videography at Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center
Orcutt Ranch Horticultural Center is a 24-acre public garden in West Hills, at the western edge of the San Fernando Valley, owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The grounds surround a historic ranch residence and include heritage oak trees, a citrus orchard, formal flower beds, and a network of garden paths through specimen trees and flowering shrubs. It is permitted for weddings up to roughly 175 guests, and because it is a city park facility rather than a private venue, booking runs through the Rec and Parks rental office rather than a dedicated venue coordinator, with rental hours and lead times to plan around accordingly.
The orchard setting is what distinguishes Orcutt Ranch from a standard park lawn. Rows of citrus trees give ceremony and portrait coverage a structured, geometric backdrop, repeating trunks and canopy that reads as intentional rather than incidental greenery, while the heritage oaks scattered through the property offer the kind of mature, deep shade that most West Valley venues simply don't have. The historic ranch house itself, low-slung and rooted in the property's early-20th-century agricultural history, gives indoor or covered-porch coverage a sense of place that a rented tent doesn't provide.
West Hills runs considerably hotter and drier than the coastal parts of Los Angeles, so a Orcutt Ranch wedding benefits from earlier ceremony times and orchard shade during peak sun. As a public park facility, expect standard park-use restrictions, the venue is not exclusive to your event during rental hours in the way a private estate would be, and any specialty setups or timing outside the standard rental window need to be confirmed with the Rec and Parks office in advance. Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at Orcutt Ranch.
