Lions Tigers & Bears
Alpine, CA
Wedding Videography at Lions Tigers & Bears
Lions Tigers & Bears is an exotic animal sanctuary on 142 acres in Alpine, California, bordering the Cleveland National Forest, and it hosts weddings and events for anywhere from 16 to 500 guests. It is not a venue with an animal theme. It is a working rescue sanctuary for big cats, bears, and other exotic animals, and every dollar of event revenue supports the animals living there. For couples who care about that, the venue carries a meaning that no resort property can offer.
The outdoor spaces are the Green Lawn, the Pavilion, and a grassy meadow, set against the chaparral and oak of San Diego's backcountry with the national forest behind them. At 1,800 feet or so of elevation, Alpine sits above the coastal marine layer entirely, so the light is clean and the sunsets over the western ridgelines are genuinely dramatic. The backcountry landscape films very differently from coastal San Diego: drier, warmer in tone, with a wildness to it.
A sanctuary setting does place real constraints on a film crew, and they are worth respecting: the animals are rescues, many with trauma histories, so drone flight, loud equipment, and unrestricted movement near habitats are limited by sanctuary policy. Working within those rules is straightforward when planned in advance. Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at Lions Tigers & Bears.

Does Film House Weddings film weddings at Lions Tigers & Bears?
Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at Lions Tigers & Bears in Alpine. We film throughout San Diego County, including the backcountry, and we coordinate our coverage plan with sanctuary staff in advance.
What makes Lions Tigers & Bears special for wedding film?
It is a genuine 142-acre rescue sanctuary bordering Cleveland National Forest, so the setting carries real meaning rather than decoration, since event revenue supports the rescued animals. At roughly 1,800 feet, Alpine sits above San Diego's coastal marine layer, so the light stays clean and the ridgeline sunsets are dramatic in a way coastal venues rarely match.
Are there filming restrictions at the sanctuary?
Yes, and they are reasonable ones. The animals are rescues, so sanctuary policy limits drone flight, loud equipment, and crew movement near habitats. We coordinate with sanctuary staff well before the wedding day and build a coverage plan that works entirely within their guidelines.
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost at Lions Tigers & Bears?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Do you offer drone videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it, since our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter?
Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
