Wedding Videography at Deer Lodge
Deer Lodge is a longstanding restaurant and event space in the Ojai Valley, a single-story property built around three connected areas: an indoor dining room with a fireplace lounge, a bar, and an outdoor patio. The venue holds up to roughly 75 seated dinner guests or up to 200 for a standing reception that uses the full property, dining room, patio, and adjoining rooms. It is a working restaurant first, which gives it a lived-in, unpolished character that a purpose-built event venue doesn't have.
For a wedding film, that character is the point. The interior reads as warm and a little worn in the best sense, dark wood, a working fireplace, mismatched furniture that has hosted decades of Ojai gatherings, and it holds low light beautifully for a reception once the sun goes down. The outdoor patio gives the ceremony and cocktail hour a garden feel without pretense, informal enough that guests relax in front of the camera rather than performing for it. Ojai's Topatopa foothills sit close enough to town that the valley light has a particular clarity, and that clarity carries into the patio coverage in a way flatter inland settings don't offer.
Ojai runs warm and dry most of the year, and its inland position means it misses the coastal marine layer that slows down morning light in Ventura and Santa Barbara. That translates to consistent, strong afternoon sun for outdoor portraits and an easy transition into a cozy, firelit reception once the lodge's interior takes over for the evening. Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at Deer Lodge.

Does Film House Weddings film weddings at Deer Lodge in Ojai?
Film House Weddings would be honored to film your wedding at Deer Lodge. We film throughout Southern California and appreciate a venue like this one that carries real, unpolished character rather than a manufactured event-space look.
What makes Deer Lodge special for wedding film?
Deer Lodge pairs an outdoor patio with genuine Ojai valley light against a warm, firelit restaurant interior for the reception, dark wood, a working fireplace, and decades of lived-in character. Ojai's inland position keeps the coastal marine layer away, so afternoon light stays clear and consistent for outdoor coverage before the evening moves indoors.
Where is Deer Lodge located?
Deer Lodge is located in Ojai, California, in Ventura County, roughly 15 miles inland from the coast.
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost at Deer Lodge?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Do you offer drone videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it, since our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter?
Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
