Wedding Videography in The Hamptons

The Hamptons occupy a singular place in American wedding culture — a stretch of Long Island's East End where oceanfront estates, potato-farm-turned-vineyard landscapes, and the kind of effortless luxury that comes with generations of refinement converge into one of the most coveted wedding destinations on the East Coast. East Hampton's historic village, Southampton's grand estate avenues, and the raw Atlantic drama of Montauk's bluffs give couples a range of settings that can shift from black-tie formality to barefoot-on-the-beach intimacy within a few miles.

The light in the Hamptons is its own character — the wide, flat geography of the East End means golden hour stretches longer and hits harder here than almost anywhere else in the Northeast. Late afternoon ceremonies at ocean-facing venues catch that particular Hamptons glow that photographers and cinematographers chase all summer. The Bridgehampton and Sagaponack wine country adds a pastoral counterpoint to the coastal energy, with vine rows and open sky providing a distinctly different backdrop.

Film House Weddings travels to the Hamptons for luxury weddings throughout the season. We understand how quickly East End light moves, how the ocean wind affects sound, and how to work within the particular logistics of Hamptons venues — from private estate rentals to historic club properties. We bring the same cinematic obsession and storytelling craft that has earned us 51 consecutive five-star Google reviews to every celebration on the East End.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

The Hamptons Wedding Tips

Book Your Venue 18 Months Out

The Hamptons wedding season is compressed — primarily Memorial Day through Labor Day — and the most sought-after venues fill 18 to 24 months in advance. If you have a specific East End venue in mind, begin your inquiry as soon as possible. October weekends have become increasingly popular for fall foliage and cooler temperatures.

Logistics and Guest Travel

Getting guests to the Hamptons requires planning. The Long Island Expressway and Sunrise Highway both face serious summer traffic, and the Hampton Jitney fills up on holiday weekends. Consider providing guests with detailed transportation guidance, shuttle options from the Hamptons train stations, and nearby hotel blocks well in advance.

Ocean Wind and Ceremony Audio

Coastal ceremonies on the East End can be windy, which affects both microphone audio and veil photography. Work with your officiant and videographer on lapel mic placement and have a wind plan. The most cinematic ocean ceremonies often involve a light breeze — the key is controlling the audio, not eliminating the atmosphere.

Golden Hour Timing in Summer

Summer sunsets in the Hamptons hit between 7:30 and 8:15 PM. Planning your ceremony end time so that portraits fall during the last hour of light is one of the best gifts you can give your film and photography. The flat East End terrain means the golden glow is expansive and lasts.

The Hamptons Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in the Hamptons?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Hamptons weddings range from intimate estate gatherings to large oceanfront celebrations — we factor the full scope and travel into every proposal. We do not publish flat pricing — reach out through our Connect page for a tailored quote.

Do you travel for weddings to the Hamptons?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. The Hamptons and Long Island's East End are a regular travel market for us. Travel fees apply for New York destinations and will be included transparently in your proposal.

How far in advance should we book our Hamptons wedding videographer?

We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance. The Hamptons wedding season is compressed into the summer and early fall months, with peak June through September dates at estate and oceanfront venues filling extremely fast. Reach out early to confirm availability.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Hamptons venues have you filmed at?

We have filmed at venues across the Hamptons including estate properties in East Hampton and Southampton, vineyard settings in Bridgehampton and Sagaponack, and waterfront venues in Montauk and Sag Harbor. If your venue is new to us, we scout ahead of your wedding day to understand light, timing, and flow.

Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography in the Hamptons?

Yes. Drone coverage is available for Hamptons weddings at appropriate locations. The East End's coastal and vineyard landscapes are extraordinary from the air. All drone flights are coordinated with your venue and applicable airspace regulations in advance to ensure full compliance.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter or videographer at our Hamptons wedding?

Our standard Hamptons package includes a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. For larger estate celebrations or multi-location East End days, additional shooters are available as an add-on confirmed during the proposal stage.
