Wedding Videography in Tarzana

Tarzana sits in the western San Fernando Valley — named for Tarzan author Edgar Rice Burroughs, who ranched here in the 1920s — in a neighborhood of large residential lots, oak-studded hillsides, and the kind of sprawling private estates that make the West Valley a genuine option for luxury weddings outside the well-worn Malibu and Bel Air corridors.

The surrounding communities of Encino, Sherman Oaks, and Woodland Hills add depth to the venue landscape: private estates with hillside views, country clubs with mountain backdrops, and event spaces that take advantage of the Valley's wider lots and more accessible geography. Couples who choose this area often want the luxury of a large private space without the logistics and price premium of a coastal venue.

Film House Weddings films throughout Greater Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, and we approach West Valley weddings with the same cinematic attention we bring to Malibu or Beverly Hills. The golden-hour light in the Valley — particularly on the western-facing hillsides above Encino — is often underestimated. We know exactly how to use it.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.

Based in Tarzana, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.

Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. We work directly with your planner and photographer to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed. Our team arrives early, stays late, and disappears into your day so you can live every moment fully.

Tarzana Wedding Tips

101 and 405 Traffic

The 101 and 405 interchange is one of LA's most congested. For Saturday weddings, vendor load-in should happen before noon or after 7 PM. Build 45-60 minutes of buffer for any cross-valley moves on the wedding day.

Valley Heat Planning

The San Fernando Valley runs 5–15 degrees hotter than the coast in summer. Outdoor ceremonies after 5 PM and venues with shade structures or indoor backup are essential for guest comfort in July and August.

Hillside Light is Underrated

The hillsides above Encino and Calabasas face west and receive extended golden-hour light with the Santa Monica Mountains as a backdrop. Venues at elevation here offer better light conditions than flat Valley floor properties.

Fire Season Awareness

The Santa Monica Mountains fringe around Calabasas and Woodland Hills is in a high fire risk zone. Confirm your venue's evacuation protocol and monitor Cal Fire conditions the week leading up to your wedding.

Tarzana Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a wedding videographer in Tarzana cost?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your West Valley wedding.

Do you travel to Tarzana and the San Fernando Valley?

Yes. Film House Weddings films throughout Greater Los Angeles including the San Fernando Valley. The West Valley — Tarzana, Encino, Woodland Hills, Calabasas — is well within our regular service area.

How far in advance should we book for a West Valley wedding?

We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates. Private estate and country club venues in the Valley book solid for spring and fall Saturdays.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Do you film at private estate venues in Tarzana and Encino?

Absolutely. Private estate weddings in the West Valley hills are some of our most cinematic work. We scout all private properties before your wedding day to plan light, camera positions, and flow.

Do you offer drone coverage in the San Fernando Valley?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on. We coordinate all applicable permits and airspace clearances in advance. Aerial footage of hillside estate properties and the Valley panorama is particularly striking.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

How does filming in the Valley compare to coastal venues?

Valley estate venues offer more space, more privacy, and often more flexibility than coastal properties. The tradeoff is heat management in summer and the absence of ocean backdrop. Hillside venues above Encino and Calabasas often bridge the gap — sweeping mountain views, extended golden hour, and the seclusion of a private estate.
