Wedding Videography in Tacoma

Tacoma has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, evolving into a vibrant arts and culture destination anchored by world-class museums, a revitalized waterfront, and some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the Pacific Northwest. The city's historic Stadium District, with its Queen Anne Victorian mansions and brick-lined streets, offers a cinematic romance that newer cities simply cannot manufacture.

For couples drawn to the outdoors, Point Defiance Park provides 760 acres of old-growth forest meeting Puget Sound, while Gig Harbor — just across the Narrows Bridge — offers a charming harbor village with unobstructed views of Mt. Rainier on clear days. That mountain presence, hovering above the Sound in quiet grandeur, is one of Tacoma's most powerful visual gifts to wedding cinematography.

Film House Weddings is based in Portland, Oregon, roughly two hours south of Tacoma. We are deeply familiar with the Pacific Northwest's light, its moody skies, and the way moisture in the air creates a softness that is uniquely suited to cinematic storytelling. Tacoma's blend of urban grit and natural beauty is exactly the kind of layered setting we love to film.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.

Based in Tacoma, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.

Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. We work directly with your planner and photographer to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed. Our team arrives early, stays late, and disappears into your day so you can live every moment fully.

Tacoma Wedding Tips

Time Your Ceremony for Mt. Rainier Views

Mt. Rainier is most visible on clear mornings before afternoon clouds build. If a mountain view is important to your ceremony, consider a morning or early-afternoon start and choose a west- or northwest-facing venue like Chambers Bay or Gig Harbor waterfront.

Leverage Tacoma's Museum District

The Museum District offers some of the most architecturally interesting wedding backdrops in Washington — glass bridges, waterfront promenades, and museum courtyards that no other city can replicate. Great for portrait walks between ceremony and reception.

Stadium District Traffic on Weekends

Tacoma's Stadium District can get congested on Saturday evenings when events overlap. Coordinate vendor arrival times at least 30 minutes ahead of guest arrival, and confirm parking logistics with your venue coordinator.

Explore Gig Harbor for an Intimate Feel

Just 15 minutes from downtown Tacoma, Gig Harbor's harbor village offers a small-town warmth and maritime charm that photographs beautifully. If you want a more intimate Pacific Northwest feel without sacrificing city proximity, it is worth serious consideration.

Tacoma Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Tacoma?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your Tacoma wedding.

Do you travel to Tacoma from Portland?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Portland, Oregon — approximately two hours from Tacoma. We film regularly across Washington State and the South Puget Sound region. Travel fees are discussed transparently during the proposal stage.

How far in advance should we book for a Tacoma wedding?

We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak summer dates. Top Tacoma venues like Thornewood Castle fill very early. Reach out as soon as your date is set — we will confirm current availability.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Have you filmed at Tacoma and South Sound venues?

Yes. We have filmed across the greater Tacoma area and Pierce County. When working at a venue for the first time, we scout lighting, timing, and flow ahead of your wedding day so nothing is left to chance.

Is drone videography available in Tacoma?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on. Tacoma's waterfront, the Narrows Bridge, and Mt. Rainier on the horizon create extraordinary aerial compositions. All drone flights are coordinated with your venue and local airspace regulations.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Can you film both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day?

Yes. Multi-day coverage for rehearsal dinners, getting-ready moments, the wedding day, and next-day celebrations is available and tailored during the proposal stage. We love documenting the full arc of a wedding weekend.
