Wedding Videography in Sonoma

Sonoma is wine country without the pretense — a town centered on a historic Spanish plaza, ringed by working vineyards, and defined by a warmth and authenticity that sets it apart from its more famous neighbor across the mountains. The Sonoma Mission, the Bear Flag Monument, and the town's preserved 19th-century architecture create a wedding backdrop steeped in California history.

The Valley of the Moon stretches north through Glen Ellen and Kenwood, offering rolling hills blanketed in vines, century-old barns, and intimate estate wineries that feel like private world. Carneros, at the valley's southern end, adds a cooler, fog-kissed character with low-slung vine rows stretching to the Bay.

Film House Weddings embraces Sonoma's unhurried elegance. Whether filming among the mustard flowers of early spring or the golden vines of harvest, we capture the deep sense of place that makes Sonoma weddings feel rooted and timeless.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.

Based in Sonoma, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.

Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. We work directly with your planner and photographer to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed. Sonoma Wedding Tips

Harvest Season

Late September through October is crush season — vineyards are alive with harvest activity and the light is extraordinary. Book early, as venues fill a year or more ahead.

Sonoma vs. Napa

Sonoma is more relaxed and often more affordable than Napa. Venues here tend to allow outside catering and offer more flexibility.

Plaza Ceremonies

The Sonoma Plaza and its surroundings offer historic ceremony backdrops. Coordinate with the city for public space permits.

Shoulder Season

January through March brings mustard flowers in the vineyards and far fewer crowds. A beautiful, intimate time for a wine country wedding.

Sonoma Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Sonoma?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.

Do you film weddings in Sonoma?

Yes. Film House Weddings travels throughout Northern California wine country including Sonoma, Glen Ellen, Kenwood, and the Carneros region.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend 12 to 18 months for peak season — harvest weekends book more than a year ahead.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Sonoma venues have you filmed at?

We have filmed at venues throughout Sonoma Valley and the broader wine country region.

Do you offer drone videography?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on — vineyard aerial shots are stunning and highly recommended for wine country weddings.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter?

Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
