Seal Beach occupies a rare position in Southern California — a genuine small-town beach community that has somehow remained itself despite sitting at the seam of Los Angeles and Orange counties. The longest wooden pier in California stretches out over the Pacific from a beach that still has lifeguard towers painted in classic colors. Main Street is lined with locally owned restaurants and shops, not chains. The neighborhoods feel like they belong to their residents, not their developers. For couples who want coastal California without the glossy anonymity of larger resort destinations, Seal Beach is the answer.
The wedding landscape here is intimate by nature. The beach itself — wide, sandy, and backed by a low bluff — provides an elemental ceremony setting with unobstructed Pacific horizon. Old Town's streets and storefronts give getting-ready and portrait sessions a warm, neighborhood texture that feels relaxed and real. The nearby Sunset Beach and Surfside Colony neighborhoods extend the palette further into private-home compounds and tucked-away waterfront properties.
Film House Weddings has filmed along the entire Southern California coast. We are drawn to places with genuine character, and Seal Beach has it in abundance. The pier at golden hour, the wide-open beach in late afternoon light, the tree-lined Old Town streets — these elements create a quietly cinematic quality that translates beautifully on film.
Why Choose Film House Weddings
Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.
Based in Seal Beach, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.
Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. Seal Beach Wedding Tips
The Pier at Golden Hour
Seal Beach Pier faces due west, which means the light at golden hour is perfectly aligned for ceremony and portrait photography. Plan your timeline to use the 60 minutes before sunset on the pier or beach — it is the defining image of a Seal Beach wedding.
Old Town Parking
Old Town Seal Beach has limited public parking on weekends. Work with your venue on a parking plan or hire shuttles from the nearby Rossmoor area. Guest experience improves dramatically when parking anxiety is removed.
Beach Permits
Wedding ceremonies on Seal Beach (city-owned beach) require a permit from the City of Seal Beach. Apply 60–90 days out. Your planner can handle this, but confirm the permit includes your setup and breakdown times.
Small-Town Vendors Book Fast
Seal Beach's tight-knit vendor community means the best local caterers, photographers, and planners have small capacities. Book your vendor team as early as your venue, not after.

Seal Beach Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Seal Beach?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
Do you film weddings throughout Seal Beach and the surrounding area?
Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. We film weddings across Seal Beach, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, and all of Southern California. We also serve the Pacific Northwest and are available for destination weddings worldwide.
How far in advance should we book our Seal Beach wedding videographer?
We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates (May through October). Seal Beach's small-venue market fills faster than you might expect. We occasionally have last-minute availability — reach out and we will let you know.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Which Seal Beach venues have you filmed at?
We have filmed at venues throughout Orange County and the LA-OC border region. If your venue is somewhere we have not been before, we scout light, timing, and flow ahead of your wedding day so nothing is left to chance.
Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on for Seal Beach weddings. The pier, beach, and Sunset Beach coastline are stunning from the air. Drone usage is coordinated ahead of time with your venue, planner, and local airspace rules.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter or videographer?
Our standard Seal Beach package is filmed by a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. Additional shooters are available as an add-on and confirmed during the proposal stage.
