Princeton sits at the intersection of Ivy League intellectual culture, old-money New Jersey estate life, and the particular pastoral beauty of the Delaware River valley — a combination that creates a wedding landscape of genuine variety and sophistication. The Princeton University campus, with its Gothic and Georgian architecture, its green quadrangles, and its sense of accumulated American history, provides one of the most visually compelling ceremonial environments in the country. Nassau Inn's historic character and the borough's walkable village streets add a human scale that large metropolitan venues cannot match.
West of Princeton, the landscape shifts into the horse country and gentleman farms of Hunterdon County — rolling hills, stone farmhouses, covered bridges over the South Branch of the Raritan, and the kind of pastoral NJ countryside that surprises visitors who arrived expecting the New Jersey Turnpike. Lambertville, on the Delaware River across from New Hope, Pennsylvania, has become one of the most charming and artistically vibrant small towns in the Mid-Atlantic, with 18th-century rowhouses, a thriving gallery scene, and the river as an ever-present backdrop.
Film House Weddings travels to the Princeton area and the Delaware River valley for luxury weddings. We are drawn to the visual contrast this region offers — the institutional grandeur of the University campus, the pastoral Hunterdon County countryside, and the Delaware River's cinematic golden-hour light as it flows between New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Princeton Wedding Tips
Princeton University Campus Access
Princeton University's campus is partially accessible for wedding photography and portraits, but access to interior spaces requires advance coordination with the University's event office. The Nassau Hall forecourt, the FitzRandolph Gate, and Prospect Garden are among the most photogenic and accessible outdoor locations. Confirm logistics with your planner well in advance.
Delaware River Golden Hour
The Delaware River between Lambertville and New Hope runs roughly north-south, which means the late afternoon sun hits the river from the west and creates extraordinary golden-hour light on the water and the 18th-century building facades of both towns. A portrait session along the towpath or on the bridge between the two towns at golden hour is one of the most cinematic options in this region.
Hunterdon County for Country Estate Weddings
If a pastoral New Jersey estate aesthetic appeals to you — stone farmhouse architecture, horse paddocks, covered bridges, rolling hills — Hunterdon County offers more of this per square mile than almost anywhere else in the state. The county is genuinely rural, which means outdoor sound is clean, light is open, and the absence of urban backdrop creates a timeless quality.
Bucks County PA as a Natural Extension
The NJ-PA border in this region is porous for wedding planning purposes. Bucks County, Pennsylvania's New Hope, Doylestown, and surrounding countryside offer an extension of the same pastoral Delaware Valley aesthetic, and many couples in this market consider venues on both sides of the river.

Princeton Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Princeton?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Princeton and Delaware Valley weddings range from intimate campus ceremonies to grand estate celebrations — we factor the full scope and travel into every proposal. We do not publish flat pricing — reach out through our Connect page for a tailored quote.
Do you travel for weddings to Princeton and Central New Jersey?
Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. Princeton, Hunterdon County, and the Delaware River valley are destinations we travel to for luxury weddings. Travel fees apply and will be included transparently in your proposal.
How far in advance should we book our Princeton wedding videographer?
We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance. Princeton and the surrounding Delaware Valley's peak season runs May through October. Estate and country inn venues in Hunterdon County and Bucks County fill their prime weekend dates well in advance, particularly for spring and fall.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Which Princeton and Delaware Valley venues have you filmed at?
We have filmed at venues across the Princeton corridor and Delaware River valley including Princeton estate properties, Hunterdon County farm and inn venues, Lambertville and New Hope riverside locations, and Somerset Hills country clubs. If your venue is new to us, we arrive ahead of your wedding to understand light, timing, and flow.
Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography in Princeton?
Yes. Drone coverage is available for Princeton and Delaware Valley weddings at appropriate locations. The Delaware River, Hunterdon County countryside, and estate grounds are beautiful from the air. All drone flights are coordinated with your venue and FAA regulations in advance.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter or videographer at our Princeton wedding?
Our standard Princeton package includes a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. For larger estate or country club celebrations, additional shooters are available as an add-on confirmed during the proposal stage.
