Pacific City is defined by Cape Kiwanda — a golden sandstone headland that rises dramatically from the beach and frames one of the most cinematic coastal views in the Pacific Northwest. The dory fleet launches directly from the beach through the surf, the Pelican Brewing Company anchors the beachfront, and the enormous Haystack Rock offshore punctuates every southward view with a sense of scale that is genuinely breathtaking.
The Nestucca River valley reaches inland from Pacific City, threading through farmland and forest before the estuary opens to the bay. This combination of dramatic headland, wide beach, river estuary, and working dory boat culture gives Pacific City a layered visual character that few Oregon coastal towns can match. It is simultaneously wild and welcoming.
Film House Weddings is based in Portland and travels to Pacific City and the Central North Coast regularly. The light at Cape Kiwanda in the evening — when the sandstone glows amber and the offshore Haystack Rock turns to silhouette — is among the most extraordinary natural phenomena we film anywhere in Oregon. If you are celebrating near this coastline, we will make it the film your wedding deserves.
Why Choose Film House Weddings
Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.
Based in Pacific City, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.
Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. Pacific City Wedding Tips
Cape Kiwanda at Golden Hour
The sandstone at Cape Kiwanda turns a deep amber-gold in the sixty minutes before sunset. This is the most extraordinary portrait window on the entire North Coast — plan your ceremony exit so portraits land in this light.
Dune Climb for Elevation
The large sand dune behind Pelican Brewing can be climbed for elevated views over the beach, Cape Kiwanda, and the offshore Haystack Rock. It is a strenuous climb but the vantage point is unlike anything else available at sea level.
Dory Fleet Timing
The Pacific City dory fleet launches and lands through the surf at irregular times. If dory boat activity is happening during your portraits, lean into it — the boats are photogenic and distinctly of this place.
Pacific City Books Fast
The Inn at Cape Kiwanda fills quickly for summer weekends and is the only full-service hotel in town. Book your room block and confirm vendor accommodations a year in advance for July and August dates.

Pacific City Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Pacific City?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
Do you travel to Pacific City from Portland?
Yes. Pacific City is approximately 2 hours from our Portland base. We travel to Pacific City and the North Oregon Coast regularly. A travel fee applies — we include this transparently in your proposal.
How far in advance should we book our Pacific City wedding videographer?
We recommend booking 9 to 14 months in advance for peak season summer dates. Pacific City's limited venue and accommodation options mean the best weekends claim vendors early.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
What makes Cape Kiwanda special for a wedding film?
The sandstone headland at Cape Kiwanda and the offshore Haystack Rock create a backdrop that is geologically ancient and visually singular. The evening light on the golden stone is unlike any other coastal setting in Oregon.
Do you offer drone coverage for Pacific City weddings?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on where airspace rules permit. Cape Kiwanda from the air — showing the headland, beach, dory fleet, and open Pacific — is spectacular. We coordinate all permits ahead of your wedding day.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
What is the best time of year to get married at Pacific City?
July through September is peak season with the best weather odds. Late August and early September often bring the clearest skies and the most dramatic golden-hour light on the sandstone cape.
