Wedding Videography in Monterey/Carmel

The Monterey Peninsula is one of California's most enduringly romantic stretches of coastline — a place where Carmel-by-the-Sea's fairy-tale cottages, white sand beach, and gallery-lined streets meet the rugged magnificence of Big Sur's dramatic cliffs, redwood canyons, and crashing surf. Pebble Beach adds a layer of refined luxury with its world-famous golf links and Tuscan-style Lodge, while Pacific Grove's Victorian homes and wildflower headlands provide a quieter, more intimate counterpoint to the region's more celebrated destinations.

Big Sur is in a category of its own for wedding cinematography — a 90-mile stretch of California coastline where the Santa Lucia Mountains plunge directly into the Pacific, where highway bridges arc over rocky coves, and where morning fog and afternoon light conspire to produce imagery of extraordinary drama and beauty. Venues here are intentionally limited, which means the couples who celebrate in Big Sur are rewarded with genuine exclusivity and a landscape that no amount of planning can fully replicate.

Film House Weddings serves the Monterey and Carmel market as part of our broader Central Coast coverage, bringing the same cinematic storytelling sensibility that has earned us 51 consecutive five-star Google reviews to every celebration along this extraordinary stretch of California coastline. Whether your wedding unfolds at a Pebble Beach estate, a Carmel courtyard, or a Big Sur cliffside venue, we build your film around the specific light, landscape, and love story that makes your day entirely your own.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

Monterey/Carmel Wedding Tips

Big Sur Fog and Light Windows

Big Sur's coastal fog is one of its most cinematic qualities — and also one of its most unpredictable. Marine layer typically burns off by late morning in summer but can persist all day in certain conditions. Early-afternoon ceremonies allow maximum flexibility for the dramatic light that makes Big Sur films so distinctive. Discuss fog contingency plans with your venue and build portrait flexibility into your timeline.

17-Mile Drive Permits and Access

The 17-Mile Drive through Pebble Beach is a private toll road with controlled access. Ensure your venue handles guest entry logistics and that any vendor vehicles — including your film team — are cleared for access well in advance. For portrait sessions on the drive itself, your venue concierge can advise on permitted locations and timing.

Carmel Valley for Fog-Free Weddings

Carmel Valley, just 12 miles inland from Carmel-by-the-Sea, sits above the coastal fog layer and enjoys reliably warm, sunny afternoons when the coast is overcast. If guaranteed sunshine is important to you, venues like Holman Ranch and Bernardus Lodge offer wine country warmth with easy access to coastal scenery for portrait sessions.

Big Sur Access Road Awareness

Highway 1 through Big Sur is subject to periodic closures due to landslides, winter storms, and infrastructure events — Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge closure (2017) and Mud Creek slide are recent examples that isolated the Big Sur coast for months. If planning a Big Sur wedding, discuss contingency access with your venue and ensure your guest logistics plan accounts for potential road condition changes.

Monterey/Carmel Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Monterey or Carmel?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. We do not publish flat pricing — reach out through our Connect page for a tailored proposal specific to your Monterey or Carmel celebration.

Do you film weddings in Big Sur?

Yes. Big Sur is one of the most visually extraordinary wedding destinations in California, and we serve this stretch of the coast as part of our Central Coast coverage. We coordinate access, timing, and logistics with your venue and planner well in advance.

How far in advance should we book our Monterey or Carmel wedding videographer?

We recommend booking 10 to 14 months in advance for Monterey Peninsula weddings. Pebble Beach and popular Big Sur venues book out well over a year in advance for peak summer and fall dates. Reach out early to confirm availability.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Monterey and Carmel venues have you filmed at?

We have filmed at venues across the Monterey Peninsula including Pebble Beach properties, Carmel Valley wine estates, and Big Sur cliffside venues. If your venue is new to us, we coordinate with your planner ahead of your wedding day to understand light, timing, and location logistics.

Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography in Monterey and Big Sur?

Yes. Drone coverage is available at appropriate permitted locations throughout the region. The Big Sur coastline and Pebble Beach 17-Mile Drive from above are among the most extraordinary aerial wedding perspectives in California — we coordinate all drone flights with FAA regulations, airspace restrictions, and venue permissions well in advance.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Can you film a Carmel beach ceremony and a Pebble Beach reception on the same day?

Yes. Multi-location wedding days are a regular part of our work on the Monterey Peninsula. We coordinate the logistics of moving between ceremony and reception locations with your planner and build the timeline to ensure seamless coverage at every stop.
