Wedding Videography in Memphis

Memphis sits on the eastern bluff of the Mississippi River — a city that gave the world the blues, rock and roll, and soul music, and whose cultural heritage runs deeper than almost anywhere in America. Beale Street's neon and jazz, Sun Studio's historic walls, the mighty Mississippi at sunset, and the city's collection of historic mansion neighborhoods — from Victorian Village to Midtown's Cooper-Young — create a wedding backdrop of genuine American cultural richness. Memphis rewards couples who want their wedding to feel rooted in a real place with a real story.

The city's wedding market extends well beyond downtown into the prosperous eastern suburbs. Germantown and Collierville are home to some of the most gracious estate properties and well-appointed event venues in Tennessee — manicured grounds, historic manor houses, and a Southern hospitality tradition that has been welcoming large celebrations for generations. The broader Memphis metropolitan area, including Olive Branch in Mississippi just across the state line, offers additional options for couples seeking scale and pastoral countryside settings.

Film House Weddings travels to Memphis for luxury weddings in the greater Mid-South region. We are drawn to Memphis's visual and cultural depth — the Mississippi light, the music heritage, the gracious Southern estates — and we bring our full cinematic storytelling craft to every celebration here.

Memphis Wedding Tips

Mississippi River Sunset Portraits

The Mississippi River at Memphis is one of the widest and most majestic river settings in America — and the bluff overlook above Mud Island and the waterfront at One Beale deliver extraordinary sunset light. The river faces west, which means a direct view of the setting sun. Build portrait time specifically at the waterfront around the golden hour — it is one of Memphis's most cinematic offerings.

The Peabody Duck March

The Peabody Memphis's famous duck march — where trained mallards ride the elevator down to the lobby fountain each morning at 11 AM and return each evening at 5 PM — is a beloved Memphis tradition. If your reception is at the Peabody, consider building the evening duck march into your cocktail hour timeline as a uniquely Memphis moment for your guests.

Memphis Music Heritage in Your Film

Memphis's music heritage is one of the most compelling and cinematic in America. Consider incorporating a live blues or soul musician into your ceremony or cocktail hour — even a brief performance on a Beale Street corner during portrait time adds an authentically Memphis dimension to your wedding film that no other city can replicate.

Spring and Fall Timing

Memphis's most comfortable wedding weather runs March through May and September through November. Summer brings heat and humidity typical of the Mid-South, and winters can be unpredictable. Spring azaleas and dogwood bloom in mid-March through April make the Dixon Gallery and Memphis Botanic Garden particularly beautiful. Fall color arrives in October and transforms the estate grounds of Germantown and Collierville.

Memphis Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Memphis?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Memphis weddings range from intimate garden ceremonies to grand Peabody Hotel ballroom receptions — we factor the full scope and travel into every proposal. We do not publish flat pricing — reach out through our Connect page for a tailored quote.

Do you travel for weddings to Memphis?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. Memphis and the greater Mid-South region are a regular travel market for us. Travel fees apply and will be included transparently in your proposal.

How far in advance should we book our Memphis wedding videographer?

We recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance for Memphis weddings. Spring dates at garden venues and peak fall weekends book out quickly. Reach out early to confirm availability for your preferred date.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Memphis venues have you filmed at?

We have filmed at venues across the Mid-South including historic downtown hotels, botanical gardens, waterfront settings, and Germantown estate properties. If your venue is new to us, we scout the property ahead of your wedding day to understand light, timing, and flow.

Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography in Memphis?

Yes. Drone coverage is available for Memphis weddings at appropriate venues. The Mississippi River, Memphis skyline, and Collierville estate countryside are extraordinary from the air. We coordinate all drone flights with applicable FAA airspace regulations and venue permissions well in advance.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter at our Memphis wedding?

Our standard Memphis package includes a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. For larger Peabody ballroom celebrations or multi-location estate days, additional shooters are available as an add-on confirmed during the proposal stage.
