Marin County is Northern California at its most breathtaking — a place where ancient redwood groves, the rugged Point Reyes National Seashore, and the legendary Mt. Tamalpais create wedding backdrops of extraordinary natural grandeur. Just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, Marin offers the drama of the coast and the serenity of old-growth forest within a single afternoon's drive.
Mill Valley, Fairfax, and the hillside communities of the peninsula feel like a world apart from the city — intimate, deeply rooted in nature, and home to a design sensibility that blends rustic warmth with sophisticated California taste. Point Reyes Station and the coastal villages of west Marin offer something rarer still: genuine remoteness, with rolling dairy farms and dramatic headlands plunging into the Pacific.
Film House Weddings is drawn to Marin's extraordinary variety of natural settings. Whether you're exchanging vows under a cathedral redwood canopy or with the Pacific horizon stretching behind you at Stinson Beach, we bring a cinematographer's eye to every landscape.

Marin County Wedding Tips
Coastal Wind
Stinson Beach and Point Reyes can be extremely windy, especially in summer afternoons. Schedule outdoor ceremonies before 2 PM and have windbreak plans ready.
Redwood Permits
Muir Woods is a National Monument — wedding permits are limited and competitive. Apply through the National Park Service at least a year in advance.
Fog Strategy
Marine layer frequently blankets coastal Marin through midday. The most reliable sun windows are late morning and late afternoon.
West Marin Drive
The road to Point Reyes and west Marin is winding and one-lane in sections. Guest transportation logistics require careful coordination.
