Wedding Videography in Inverness

Inverness sits at the edge of Tomales Bay on the Point Reyes Peninsula — a landscape so distinct and pristine that much of it is protected as a National Seashore. This is Marin County at its most elemental: tule elk on open ridgelines, oyster boats on a silver bay, Bishop pine forests descending to the water, and coastal ranches that have operated since the Gold Rush era. For couples who want a wedding rooted in genuine place, Inverness and Point Reyes offer something irreplaceable.

The village of Inverness itself is small and unhurried, with a handful of inns and guesthouses lining the bay. Point Reyes Station, a few miles inland, serves as the community hub with farm-to-table restaurants and local vendors who know the landscape intimately. Olema and Bolinas add additional character to a region that draws artists, writers, and adventurers in equal measure — all of whom come for the light and the wildness.

Film House Weddings films throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. The Inverness and Point Reyes area offers a quality of light — soft, diffused, and often dramatic with coastal fog — that cinematographers love. We treat every wedding here as an opportunity to document not just a celebration but a place, weaving the landscape into your story as naturally as the moments themselves.

5 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Videographer Before You Book

The questions most couples don't ask that stop them from hiring someone truly exceptional.

Inverness Wedding Tips

Fog as a Feature

Point Reyes is one of the foggiest places in California. Summer afternoons often bring thick coastal fog rolling in off the ocean. Embrace it — fog-lit frames have a painterly, ethereal quality that is genuinely stunning on film.

Book Lodging for Your Guests Early

Inverness and Point Reyes Station have very limited accommodations. Book a block of rooms at nearby inns up to 18 months in advance for summer events. Overflow guests can stay in Fairfax, San Rafael, or Petaluma.

Permit Requirements at Point Reyes National Seashore

Any wedding ceremony on National Seashore land requires a Special Use Permit from the National Park Service. Apply early — permits are limited and the process takes time. Your venue coordinator can help guide you through it.

Tomales Bay at Sunset

Late afternoon light on Tomales Bay — when the water turns silver and the surrounding hills go golden — is among the most beautiful portrait settings in Northern California. Build time for bay-side portraits into your wedding day timeline.

Inverness Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a wedding videographer in Inverness cost?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.

Do you travel to Inverness and Point Reyes for weddings?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. We film weddings throughout Northern California, the Bay Area, and the Marin Coast. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our home markets.

How far in advance should we book our Inverness wedding videographer?

We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates. Inverness and Point Reyes venues book out quickly, especially in summer. Reach out early and we will let you know our availability.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Inverness and Point Reyes venues have you filmed at?

We have filmed at venues throughout the Marin Coast and Bay Area. If your venue is somewhere we have not visited before, we scout light, timing, and flow ahead of your wedding day so nothing is left to chance.

Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography near Point Reyes?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on for Inverness and Point Reyes weddings. Drone usage is coordinated ahead of time with your venue, National Park Service rules, and local airspace regulations to make sure everything is properly cleared.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter or videographer?

Our standard Inverness package is filmed by a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. Additional shooters are available as an add-on and confirmed during the proposal stage.
