Wedding Videography in Guadalupe

Guadalupe is a small agricultural city on California's Central Coast with one remarkable distinction: it sits at the edge of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex, the largest coastal dune system in North America. The dunes stretch for eighteen miles along the Pacific, rising to over 500 feet in places and creating a landscape of extraordinary, alien beauty — one that Cecil B. DeMille chose as the setting for The Ten Commandments in 1923, and one that rewards modern cinematographers with light and form that is genuinely unlike anything else in California.

Away from the dunes, Guadalupe's identity is rooted in agriculture — strawberry fields, flower farms, and broccoli rows that stretch toward the Santa Maria Valley's benchland. This agricultural character is part of the town's authentic appeal and provides a visual richness that is increasingly rare along the California coast. For couples drawn to raw, unstyled natural beauty rather than manicured wine country aesthetics, the Guadalupe dunes corridor is an extraordinary choice.

Film House Weddings is based in Orange County and travels to the Central Coast for couples who appreciate unique, cinematic settings. The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes are among the most extraordinary natural locations we have ever filmed — the kind of place where every frame looks like it was composed by a landscape photographer.

Guadalupe Wedding Tips

Arrive at the Dunes Before Sunrise

The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes at first light are among the most otherworldly locations in California. If you are incorporating the dunes into your portrait session or ceremony, an early morning start — before beach visitors arrive — gives you the full scale of the landscape in complete solitude.

Coordinate Dune Permits in Advance

The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Preserve is managed by The Nature Conservancy. Events and commercial photography within the preserve require advance permits. Work with your planner to secure access well before your wedding date.

Prepare for Wind and Sand

The dune corridor is reliably windy, and fine coastal sand is pervasive. Dress in layers, secure floral arrangements and decor well, and brief your hair and makeup team that dune portraits require wind-tolerant styles.

Combine Dunes with Santa Maria Valley Wine Country

A ceremony or portraits on the dunes followed by a vineyard estate reception in the Santa Maria Valley — just 15 minutes inland — creates two completely different visual worlds in a single wedding day film.

Guadalupe Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Guadalupe?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your Guadalupe or Santa Maria Valley wedding.

Do you travel to Guadalupe from Orange County?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County and travels to the Central Coast for weddings along the Santa Barbara County coast and the Santa Maria Valley. Travel fees are discussed transparently during the proposal stage.

How far in advance should we book for a Guadalupe wedding?

We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance. Dune preserve permits and Santa Maria Valley estate venues have limited availability. Reach out early and we will confirm current calendar openings.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Have you filmed at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes before?

Yes. We have filmed on the Central Coast dune system and understand the unique challenges and rewards of this environment — wind, light behavior, permit logistics, and the scale of the landscape. We scout conditions ahead of your wedding day.

Do you offer drone coverage for Guadalupe weddings?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on and is particularly powerful at the dunes — aerial footage of the eighteen-mile dune system meeting the Pacific is extraordinary. Drone usage is coordinated with preserve permits and local airspace rules in advance.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Can you film a multi-day wedding weekend in Guadalupe?

Yes. Multi-day coverage is available and discussed during the proposal stage. A dune sunset session on Friday followed by a Saturday vineyard estate wedding creates an extraordinary two-day film narrative.
