Wedding Videography in Glen Ellen

Glen Ellen sits in the Sonoma Valley just north of the town of Sonoma, nestled between the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountains in a landscape Jack London called the Valley of the Moon. It is a place of extraordinary natural beauty — ancient coast live oaks draped over creek beds, volcanic ridgelines catching the late-afternoon light, and vineyards rolling across warm valley floors.

Weddings in Glen Ellen carry a literary and pastoral romance that is distinctly Sonoma. The valley's estates and wineries tend to be intimate and personal — nothing feels mass-produced here. B.R. Cohn Winery, with its olive groves and terraced vineyards, is one of the valley's great ceremony sites. The surrounding hills offer private estate settings that are genuinely spectacular.

Film House Weddings approaches Glen Ellen weddings with the same care and visual intelligence that the landscape demands. We know the light in the Valley of the Moon, the rhythm of intimate estate weddings, and how to capture the warmth and depth of a celebration in one of California's most beautiful wine valleys.

Glen Ellen Wedding Tips

Fall Harvest Light is Unmatched

September and October in the Valley of the Moon produce extraordinary light — warm, golden, and deeply cinematic. The harvest activity in the vineyards adds a layer of texture and authenticity that makes fall the most compelling season for wedding films here.

Explore Mountain Vineyard Sites

Glen Ellen's mountain estates offer elevation and panoramic valley views that flat-floor valley wineries cannot match. If dramatic visual range matters to you, ask your venue about ceremony sites with a valley overlook.

Reserve Your Winery Early

Glen Ellen's most intimate winery venues take very few weddings per year by design. Some book 18 to 24 months out for prime dates. Start your venue search early and be prepared to move quickly when you find the right fit.

Jack London's Park Permits

Jack London State Historic Park requires a special event permit for ceremonies. The process has lead time — start permit applications at least six months ahead of your event date.

Glen Ellen Wedding Videography FAQ

Do you film weddings in Glen Ellen and the Sonoma Valley?

Yes. Film House Weddings films throughout Sonoma Valley, including Glen Ellen, Kenwood, and the Valley of the Moon. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a custom proposal for your venue and date.

How much does a wedding videographer cost in Glen Ellen?

Every package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. We do not publish flat rates — reach out and we will build a proposal tailored to your celebration.

How far in advance should we book for a Glen Ellen winery wedding?

We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance. Glen Ellen's intimate estate wineries take limited weddings and our calendar fills accordingly. That said, we occasionally have last-minute availability — reach out and we will let you know.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Have you filmed at Glen Ellen and Kenwood wineries?

We have filmed at estates and wineries throughout the Sonoma Valley. If your specific venue is new to us, we arrive early to scout the property so we know every corner of light and flow before your day.

Do you offer aerial drone coverage in the Sonoma Valley?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on and is spectacular over the Valley of the Moon's vineyard landscape. We coordinate airspace and venue permissions ahead of your wedding day.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

What makes Glen Ellen different from Healdsburg or Napa for a wine-country wedding?

Glen Ellen and the Sonoma Valley feel more intimate, literary, and grounded than the polished hospitality corridors of Healdsburg or St. Helena. The Valley of the Moon has a wildness and depth to it — ancient oaks, volcanic hillsides, the legacy of Jack London — that gives weddings here a distinctive emotional quality.
