Wedding Videography in Gig Harbor

Gig Harbor is one of the Pacific Northwest's most beloved small cities — a working harbor village where fishing boats still moor alongside pleasure craft, waterfront restaurants hang over the bay, and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge arches overhead connecting the Peninsula to the mainland. On clear days — which are more frequent here than many Pacific Northwest postcards suggest — Mt. Rainier rises above the Narrows in jaw-dropping scale, providing a wedding backdrop that genuinely has no equal.

The city's wedding venue landscape spans waterfront ballrooms, converted boathouses, and private estates on Fox Island and the Key Peninsula. The maritime atmosphere — salt air, mast-tops, tidal flats catching the light — is woven into the visual fabric of every event here. Even the most formal reception carries the easy, unhurried quality of a harbor town.

Film House Weddings is based in Portland, Oregon, approximately two hours south of Gig Harbor via I-5. We have filmed extensively in the South Puget Sound region and understand how to capture the particular quality of light over the Narrows — the way late afternoon sun turns the water silver and Mt. Rainier glows above the bridge in the last hour before sunset. Gig Harbor is a place we love to film.

Why Choose Film House Weddings

Film House Weddings is a luxury wedding cinematography studio founded by Dennis Mulyar, a first-generation Ukrainian American filmmaker with a Bachelor's degree in Film and 15 years of experience across entertainment, beauty, and traditional film festivals. The studio has worked with clients including companies like Nike, Adidas, Snapchat, Paramount+, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Augustinus Bader. Featured in BRIDES magazine and Washington Wedding Day.

Based in Gig Harbor, our team has filmed hundreds of weddings at venues across the country and beyond. We are not a one-person operation. Film House Weddings is a team of dedicated filmmakers who share the same obsession with cinematic craft, candid emotion, and timeless storytelling. Dennis leads the creative vision while his team executes on the ground. The result is a cinematic experience built for couples who understand that their wedding film is not just for them. It is for future generations.

Every detail of our process exists to serve couples who refuse to take a chance when it comes to preserving their most important moments. We work directly with your planner and photographer to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed. Our team arrives early, stays late, and disappears into your day so you can live every moment fully.

Gig Harbor Wedding Tips

Mt. Rainier Views Require Clear Days

The Mountain is not always visible — summer mornings are usually clearest before afternoon clouds build. If a Rainier view is central to your vision, have a flexible timeline and coordinate with your photographer and videographer to capture it when conditions align.

Waterfront Venues Fill Quickly

Gig Harbor's most popular harbor-front venues book 12 months or more in advance for peak summer Saturdays. Confirm your venue date and begin vendor outreach at the same time to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Low Tide Reveals the Harbor's Best Angles

At low tide, Gig Harbor's waterfront reveals mudflats, boat keels, and reflective tidal pools that create extraordinary visual texture. Check tide tables for your date and plan your portrait walk to coincide with a dramatic tidal moment.

Narrows Bridge is a Cinematic Feature

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge — especially visible from hilltop venues and Fox Island — is one of the most architecturally dramatic elements in the South Sound. Incorporate it into your portrait locations for a backdrop that is unmistakably Gig Harbor.

Gig Harbor Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury Gig Harbor wedding videographer cost?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. We do not publish flat pricing. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your Gig Harbor celebration.

Do you travel to Gig Harbor from Portland?

Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Portland, Oregon — approximately two hours from Gig Harbor via I-5 and the Narrows Bridge. We film regularly in the South Puget Sound and Pierce County. Travel fees are discussed during the proposal stage.

How far in advance should we book for a Gig Harbor wedding?

We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak summer dates. Waterfront venues especially fill early. Reach out as soon as your date is set.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Is drone coverage available in Gig Harbor?

Yes. Aerial coverage over the harbor, the Narrows Bridge, and Mt. Rainier is extraordinary from Gig Harbor's vantage points. All drone flights are coordinated with venue permissions and FAA airspace rules.

Can you film on Fox Island?

Yes. Fox Island is a short drive across a small bridge from Gig Harbor proper. Private estates on Fox Island offer dramatic Narrows and Sound views. We coordinate all logistics for island or peninsula venue work.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

What makes Gig Harbor such a great wedding destination?

Gig Harbor has everything: a working harbor, mountain views, island access, Pacific Northwest forest, and the friendly energy of a small city that has not sacrificed its soul to tourism. On a clear day with Mt. Rainier reflected in the Narrows, there is nowhere more beautiful in Washington.
