Eureka is the largest city on the Northern California coast between San Francisco and the Oregon border — which is to say it is a city of 27,000 people surrounded by ancient redwood forest, Humboldt Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. Its Victorian seaport character is unusually intact: Old Town Eureka has a concentration of painted-lady mansions, brick commercial buildings, and the Carson Mansion — considered one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in the United States — that gives the city a visual distinction no other California coastal town can match.
Humboldt Bay, the second-largest bay in California, provides a calm-water harbor setting with its own cinematic character — the bay is surrounded by wildlife refuges and wetlands, and the light that comes across the water in late afternoon is extraordinary. Trinidad, 20 miles north, is one of California's most beautiful small harbor towns: a single bay cove with a historic lighthouse, sea stacks rising from the surf, and a headland that provides some of the most dramatic Pacific Ocean ceremony views anywhere in the state.
Film House Weddings travels to destinations where the setting is genuinely irreplaceable, and Humboldt County qualifies. The redwood coast, the Victorian architecture, the bay light, the remote Lost Coast just south — these elements create a wedding film of rare visual depth. If you are celebrating in Eureka, we want to be there.

Eureka Wedding Tips
Weather is Variable — Plan for It
Humboldt County receives 40+ inches of rain annually, and the coast can be foggy even in summer. Outdoor ceremonies should always have a covered backup option. That said, the clearing weather that follows coastal fog produces light of extraordinary quality.
Fly Into Arcata-Eureka Airport
United Airlines serves the Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV) from San Francisco and Los Angeles. For guests coming from Southern California or out of state, this is dramatically simpler than the 5-hour drive from San Francisco on Highway 101.
Old Town Architecture for Portraits
Old Town Eureka's Victorian storefronts and mansions are extraordinary portrait locations. Work with your photographer and us to build a portrait session around the Old Town streetscapes — the Carson Mansion exterior is particularly dramatic.
The Lost Coast for Adventure Portraits
The Lost Coast — the roadless wilderness south of Eureka — is accessible via King Range National Conservation Area. For adventurous couples who want something genuinely remote, a Lost Coast portrait session is unlike anything else in California.

Eureka Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Eureka?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
Do you film weddings throughout Eureka, Arcata, and the Humboldt Coast?
Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. We film weddings across Eureka, Arcata, Trinidad, and Northern California. We also serve the Pacific Northwest and are available for destination weddings worldwide. Travel fees apply for Humboldt County.
How far in advance should we book our Eureka wedding videographer?
We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates (June through September). Humboldt County's boutique venue market fills early. We occasionally have last-minute availability — reach out and we will let you know.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Which Eureka and Humboldt County venues have you filmed at?
We have filmed at venues throughout Northern California and remote destination locations. If your venue is somewhere we have not been before, we scout light, timing, and flow ahead of your wedding day so nothing is left to chance.
Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on for Eureka weddings. Humboldt Bay, Trinidad Head, Patrick's Point, and the Lost Coast are extraordinary from the air. Drone usage is coordinated with your venue and California State Parks airspace regulations.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter or videographer?
Our standard Eureka package is filmed by a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. Additional shooters are available as an add-on and confirmed during the proposal stage.
