Calistoga occupies the northern tip of Napa Valley, where the valley floor narrows between the Mayacamas and Vaca mountains and geothermal springs bubble up from deep volcanic rock. This is wine country with a spa culture built on top of it — and the combination creates a wedding destination that is genuinely unique in California. Couples who choose Calistoga get Napa's viticulture and prestige with the added dimension of thermal pools, mud baths, and resort living that feels equal parts rustic and luxurious.
The anchor of Calistoga's wedding scene is Castello di Amorosa — a 121,000-square-foot, 13th-century-style Tuscan castle and winery built by Dario Sattui over 14 years. It is one of the most theatrical wedding venues in the United States, full of vaulted stone rooms, a working torture chamber turned cocktail space, and a grand courtyard for ceremonies. Beyond the castle, resorts like Solage and Indian Springs offer refined grounds, mineral pools, and spa-integrated event experiences.
Film House Weddings films throughout Napa Valley and Northern California. We have shot at wine country estates of every character, from ultra-modern to castle medieval, and we know how to read the light, pace the day, and capture the moments that make Calistoga weddings feel as grand on screen as they feel in person.

Calistoga Hot Springs Wedding Tips
Build in Spa Time
Calistoga's greatest gift to wedding couples is the spa infrastructure. Build a morning mud bath or mineral pool soak into your getting-ready timeline — it makes for gorgeous, relaxed film footage and sets the tone for the day.
Summer Heat Planning
Calistoga is the hottest part of Napa Valley — summer temperatures regularly reach 95 to 105 degrees. Schedule outdoor ceremonies before 11 AM or after 5 PM, and confirm shaded cocktail hour options with your venue.
Castle Venue Logistics
Castello di Amorosa has extensive indoor and outdoor spaces, but vendor logistics require coordination — the castle's medieval layout means getting gear in and out takes planning. Arrive early and walk the venue with your team beforehand.
Wine Country Guest Experience
Calistoga rewards guests who arrive early and stay the weekend. Build in time for wine tasting, spa visits, and hillside drives — your guests will feel cared for, and that relaxed energy shows beautifully on film.

Calistoga Hot Springs Wedding Videography FAQ
How much does a wedding videographer in Calistoga cost?
Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
Do you travel to Calistoga and the Napa Valley for weddings?
Yes. Film House Weddings is based in Orange County, California and Portland, Oregon. We film weddings throughout Napa Valley, Sonoma, and Northern California. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our home markets.
How far in advance should we book our Calistoga wedding videographer?
We recommend booking 9 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates. Calistoga's top venues — especially Castello di Amorosa and the Auberge resorts — book out well over a year in advance. Reach out early and we will let you know our availability.
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Which Calistoga venues have you filmed at?
We have filmed at venues throughout Napa Valley and Northern California wine country. If your venue is somewhere we have not visited before, we scout light, timing, and flow ahead of your wedding day so nothing is left to chance.
Do you offer drone and aerial wedding videography in Calistoga?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on for Calistoga weddings. Drone usage is coordinated ahead of time with your venue, planner, and local airspace rules to make sure everything is cleared for your wedding day.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter or videographer?
Our standard Calistoga package is filmed by a two-person team — one cinematographer with each partner during getting ready, then full coverage for the ceremony, portraits, and reception. Additional shooters are available as an add-on and confirmed during the proposal stage.
