Wedding Videography in Boston

Boston is America's most historic city, and its wedding landscape reflects four centuries of architectural accumulation — from the Federal-era townhouses of Beacon Hill and the Victorian brownstones of Back Bay to the Georgian grandeur of Harvard Yard and the industrial-turned-elegant loft spaces of the Seaport. Every neighborhood tells a different story, and every venue carries the weight and character of the city's extraordinary past. For couples who value substance alongside beauty, Boston is without peer.

The wedding season here is distinctly seasonal — spring brings the famous Boston Public Garden bloom with the Swan Boats on the lagoon, while fall is the undisputed peak: October in New England, with the trees blazing and that particular low autumn light that turns everything amber and cinematic. Cape Cod and the North Shore extend the geography of a Boston-area wedding into some of the most beautiful coastal landscape in America, from the weathered shingle cottages of Nantucket to the rocky headlands of Rockport.

Film House Weddings approaches every Boston wedding with an appreciation for the particular quality of New England light and the layered architectural character of these spaces. We capture the intimacy of a Beacon Hill ceremony as thoughtfully as we capture the grandeur of a Harvard Faculty Club reception — always with the storytelling craft the city deserves.

5 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Videographer Before You Book

The questions most couples don't ask that stop them from hiring someone truly exceptional.

Boston Wedding Tips

October Is New England's Crown Jewel

Fall foliage in Greater Boston peaks from mid-October through early November. If your wedding falls here, the natural backdrop is extraordinary — but accommodation and vendor demand is at its annual maximum. Book 15 to 18 months in advance for any October Saturday.

Boston Weather Is Genuinely Variable

April can be warm and sunny or cold and rainy — often within the same day. Build a weather contingency plan for any outdoor ceremony element, and confirm your venue's backup option is genuinely comfortable, not just functional.

Cape Cod Logistics

The Bourne and Sagamore bridges are the only entry points to Cape Cod, and traffic on summer and fall weekends can be severe. If your venue is on the Cape, arrange guest transportation and communicate bridge crossing times clearly. Friday-evening arrivals are significantly easier than Saturday morning.

Beacon Hill Portrait Timing

Acorn Street and the Louisburg Square area in Beacon Hill are public, narrow, and beautiful — but they are also residential. Early morning (before 9 AM) provides the cleanest shots without foot traffic and parked vehicles. Coordinate with your photographer and videographer for a morning portrait session.

Boston Wedding Videography FAQ

How much does a luxury wedding videographer cost in Boston?

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day — we do not publish flat pricing because no two luxury weddings are the same. Pricing scales with coverage hours, team size, deliverables, and travel. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your Boston wedding.

Do you travel for weddings to Boston?

Yes. Film House Weddings travels throughout New England for weddings. Boston's historic venues, Cambridge's university grandeur, Cape Cod's coastal settings, and the North Shore's seaside estates are exactly the kind of character-rich environments we love. Travel fees apply — reach out for full details.

How far in advance should we book our Boston wedding videographer?

We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance for Boston weddings, particularly for October fall foliage weekends and June peak season on Cape Cod. Boston's luxury wedding market is competitive and the best vendors book early.

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Which Boston venues have you filmed at?

We film at venues throughout greater Boston and New England — from the Boston Public Library and Langham Boston to Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod, and Nantucket island properties. New venues are always scouted ahead of your wedding day.

Do you offer drone videography for Boston weddings?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on for Boston-area weddings. Cape Cod coastlines, North Shore harbors, and North Shore estate properties are particularly stunning from above. Boston's urban core has FAA-controlled airspace — we handle all permitting and coordination.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner — let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.

Do you provide raw footage?

Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it — our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.

Will you provide a second shooter for our Boston wedding?

Our standard Boston package includes a two-person team covering both partners through getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and reception. Additional shooters are available for larger celebrations or multi-location days across greater Boston and New England.
