Sula & Bogdan // Portland, OR

Sula and Bogdan’s wedding was out of this world, especially their first looks and creative session at Monet Vineyards!

That day, the wildfires roared so badly that the “fog” at the vineyard was actually smoke haze.  As to be expected, we were a little nervous to be out there but the footage turned out amazing, so definitely worth it! It was by far our favorite part of the day.  The Italian architectural design of Monet Vineyards created such a whimsical and romantic background with that “fog”. To top it all off, they brought a vintage pale yellow Mercedes that perfectly completed the look.

At Monet Vineyards, we also had them read the letters that they wrote for each other. It’s one thing we love to do with each couple as it gives them a chance to express their love in a private, sentimental moment. We really heard, saw, and felt their love for each other through their words and reactions.

Sula and Bogdan didn’t care about anything else except for each other.  Wildfires blazing?  No problem.  Smells like ash?  No problem.  Can’t see 10 feet in front of you?  No problem.  As long as they had each other, an officiant, and their friends and family, they were happy.

Their ceremony and reception were held at their local church with the flowers done by Sula and her family.  She and her sisters own an event rental company and dabble in floral arrangements, so they did it all in-house.  Their garden-style blush and white floral arch and arrangements were so full and lush and lent themselves well to the whimsy of that day.  During the reception, they chose to just have some light, string instruments in the background so that they could focus on their friends and family.

We hope that Sula and Bogdan’s short film gives you a glimmer as to the magnificent of how good those vineyard moments looked!
